Fake eBay email attempts to get your personal information.

January 3 2004--An email that claims to be from online auction company eBay, but is not, is circulating the internet in an attempt to lure people into submitting their personal and financial information to a non eBay website.
The email tells users to update their information or they will be deleted from the eBay system. Users are then directed to a site that collects information such as their Name, Social Security number and Mother's Maiden Name. Financial data such as credit card numbers are also requested.
The website has absolutely nothing to do with eBay and is an attempt to gain access to this information to use in an identity theft scheme.
